Flames, Heat, and Calories

Everything in life revolves around the transfer of energy which can occur through many pathways, one such example is chemical reactions the use or release heat.  This experiment involves students burning various items top heat water as a means to measure the heat released and performing heat gained and heat loss calculations for hot metal being place in cold water.
