The microLAB FS-528 spectrophotometer measures fluorescence, absorbance, scatter, and transmission for 16 wavelengths between 360-880 nm. Using this instrument, students can measure spectra for standard solutions to generate a Beer's Law plot. The microLAB software allows for students to explore plots for each of the 16 wavelengths. After the plot has been generated, students can measure unknown concentrated solutions against their standard solutions to determine concentration.
microLAB software provides visualization of the spectra as a spectra band across the top of the display and as a line graph or histogram bar graph directly below the spectra. The spectra band shows the unfiltered spectra directly above the profile for the current solution.
