Sample Illumination

Sample illumination provides a back lit view of the solution held in the MicroLAB FS-528. The Interface contains 2 white LEDs to provide a clear view in the vial.  The FS-528 also contains a red and green LED to signal the start and stop for the addition of a titrant. The LEDs are covered by the sample illumination module to diffuse light and provide a white background for sample viewing.

Stirring

The MicroLAB FS-528 has an integrated rotating magnetic field stirring motor to allow for stirring within the spectrophotometer. 

Temperature Control

The constant temperature heater system connects to the MicroLAB FS-528 interface through the back 12VDC heater input to maintain a constant temperature in a vial.  The heater is small enough to fit into the top of a 28 mL vial with a thermistor.  The heater can control the temperature up to about 60°C with a resolution of ±0.004 °C.

Electrical Charge

The MicroLAB FS-528 voltage output port connects to the Voltage Lead providing adjustable voltage outputs from 0-5 V and 750 mA current.

Irradiation

The MicroLAB FS-528 has 16 different excitation wavelengths between 360-880 nm for high sensitivity fluorescence data collection. The Irradiation Module irradiates samples at 625 nm, 525 nm, and 465 nm.

Time

The MicroLAB FS-528 has the ability to record and graph time as a variable during the course of experiments with a resolution of 0.001s.  The interface is programmable allowing for timed events during experiments.
