This Visual Spectrometer can be dismantled and/or assembled by students to inspect the individual components of a spectrometer: the source inlet, grating, and slit.  Students can insert a colored sample between the light source and detector (eye) to view filtered spectra. This product also provides a reference white light source with warm and cool light outputs and fiber optic cable.

Technical Description

MicroLab’s Visual Spectrometer is rugged, affordable and easy-to-use.  The included fiber optic cable directs light from a refernce smple to the viewing field. 

Using a Demonstration Camera with point-and-shoot camera or cell phone camera, students can record spectra for comparison and digital analysis. 

The patented split viewing field of the visual spectrometer allows for students to filter the top half of the spectra with a reference spectra available directly below.
